American Healthcare Investors Names EVP of Asset Management

American Healthcare Investors has announced that Ray Oborn joined the company as an executive vice president of asset management.

In his new role, Oborn is tasked with overseeing the company’s senior housing, skilled nursing and hospital portfolios, which comprise about $4.2 billion worth of assets under management. Wendie Newman, who is currently an executive vice president of asset management, will continue to oversee all of the company’s medical office buildings.

Oborn previously worked with Cherrywood Pointe Investment, where he was president; and with its parent company, United Properties, where he worked as executive vice president of its real estate investment and development firm.

United Methodist Communities Names Operations VP

United Methodist Communities (UMC) has hired David Rayha as vice president of operations.

In his new role, Rayha will have strategic oversight and management of four communities. He brings to the role more than 34 years of experience in management and senior-level leadership positions in long-term care. He previously worked as vice president of operations and COO at Brethren Village in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

The organization also announced the appointment of Cindy Jacques, vice president of housing and community initiatives, to a three-year term on the board of LeadingAge New Jersey and Delaware.

Sagely Promotes Kemp to COO

Sagely has promoted Hollie Kemp to the role of COO.

Kemp, who joined Sagely in 2019, previously worked as executive vice president. In her new role, she will help oversee the company’s strategic operations, growth plans and product enhancement efforts.

Kemp previously worked for Watercrest Senior Living Group, first as a vice president of dementia services and programming, then as the company’s chief experience officer. She also worked in senior positions at Senior Lifestyle and Compass Pointe Healthcare System.

Cadence Names Operations VP for Mid-Atlantic

Cadence Living has appointed Jonathan Ellis to the role of vice president of operations in its Mid-Atlantic region.

In his new role, Ellis will oversee operations for Cadence’s portfolio of five communities in Maryland and Virginia. He is an industry veteran with more than 19 years of experience in senior living, including with operators such as HHHunt and Spring Arbor Senior Living, Meridian Senior Living and Five Star Senior Living.

Cypress Living Names Vice President of Operations

Cypress Living has named Tim Ficker to the role of vice president of operations.

Ficker previously worked as executive director at Cypress Cove from 2009 to 2013, then came back to the role in 2019 on an interim basis. Ficker has 25 years of experience in leadership positions across the senior living industry.

Integral Appoints Regional Director of Sales and Marketing

Integral Senior Living (ISL) has named Shelley Speer as its new regional director of sales and Marketing for its portfolio. The company also announced a handful of new hires at a community in Texas.

In her new position, Speer is tasked with overseeing sales and marketing for multiple ISL communities. She previously worked as a regional manager at A Place for Mom.

ISL also named three new directors at its Parkview on Hollybrook in Longview, Texas. Andrea Ziegler is now the community’s vibrant life director, Wilda Kincaid is its resident care director and Glen Tucker is its building service director.

All three have experience in senior living and health care. Ziegler joined Parkview in 2018 as an activities assistant, while Kincaid comes to the community with 10 years of nursing experience and Tucker has 15 years of experience in the senior living industry.

Westmont Living Announces New Hires

Westmont Living has hired three people as part of its ongoing growth plans.

The company named Pete Do as its new senior director of culinary services. He previously worked as the national director of dining Services for MBK Senior Living. Westmont also hired Maria Rossi as its new regional director of operations. With more than 15 years of experience, she previously worked as an executive director and national operations specialist for Five Star Senior Living. The company additionally appointed Cherilyn Cordova to the role of sales specialist. She previously worked as sales specialist for Elmcroft by Eclipse Senior Living.

Westmont Living has plans to open four additional communities in 2021, with more locations slated to open in the future.

Capital Senior Living Appoints Accounting Officer

Capital Senior Living (NYSE: CSU) has named Tiffany Dutton to the role of principal accounting officer.

Dutton first joined the company as vice president of accounting and financial reporting in January. She previously worked as an accounting consultant in the health care and retail industries.

Erickson Community Near Detroit Names New Executive Director

Fox Run, a senior living community developed and managed by Erickson Living in Novi, Michigan, has named Ashley Bulat as its new executive director.

Bulat previously worked at Fox Run as an associate executive director, a role she had since 2018. Overall, she has more than 13 years of experience in the senior living industry.

The community’s previous executive director, Mike McCormick, is taking a new role at Erickson Living at Siena Lakes, a community under development in Naples, Florida.

Sunshine Retirement Hires New EDs for Communities in Ohio, Colorado

Sunshine Retirement Living has named new executive directors at communities in Ohio and Colorado.

At Windsor Heights, an assisted living and memory care community in Beachwood, Ohio, the company is welcoming Brandy Delp as a new executive director. In her new role, Delp is tasked with overseeing the community’s day-to-day management and operations and all of its health and safety programs, including protocols to prevent and mitigate the spread of Covid-19.

Meanwhile at Belleview Heights, an assisted living and memory care community in Aurora, Colorado, Sunshine has named Kimberly Boughton as a new executive director. Like Delp, Boughton will manage the community’s day-to-day operations and lead its health, safety, and infection prevention programs.

Epoch Names Senior Adviser at Massachusetts Community

D’Evereux Fondren has joined the services team at the Bridges by Epoch community in Hingham, Massachusetts.

Fondren has directorial and managerial experience in sales, marketing and personalized living. She previously worked with two national senior living companies, focusing on the San Antonio and Kansas City, Missouri, markets.

Robertson to Lead Board of Directors for Purchase Senior Learning Community

Elizabeth Robertson is the new president of the Board of Directors for Purchase Senior Learning Community, the nonprofit that is overseeing the development of a new senior living community at Purchase, New York-based Purchase College.

Robertson has served as the board’s secretary for the past five years. Thomas Schwarz, past board president and president emeritus at Purchase College, is staying on the board, and will continue to advise it on the Broadview project.

Florida Community Names Retirement Counselor

Maureen Oravec has joined a Florida life plan community’s sales and marketing team as retirement counselor.

Oravec will help build occupancy at Cypress Cove, a life plan community in the 12-acre HealthPark Florida development in Fort Myers, Florida. She is tasked primarily with hosting sales and marketing efforts for The Oaks at Cypress Cove, a neighborhood in the community with 72 two-bedroom apartment homes and 10 three-bedroom villas.

Oravec has worked in the senior living and home care industry since 1988.

Ingleside CEO and President Elected to LeadingAge D.C. Board

Ingleside President and CEO Lynn O’Connor is the new vice chair and secretary on the LeadingAge D.C. board of directors.

O’Connor first joined Ingleside in 2010, but has worked with aging services organizations since 1980.

Retirement Housing Foundation Names New President, CEO

The board of directors of Retirement Housing Foundation (RHF) has chosen Stuart Hartman as the organization’s president and CEO, effective March 1, 2021. Until then, Hartman will continue in his current role with RHF of senior vice president of operations, acquisitions and development.

RHF’s current president and CEO, Dr. Laverne Joseph, is set to remain in his position and continue to lead RHF until his retirement on Feb. 28.

Caspar Names Senior Living Advisor to CEO

Caspar AI, a developer of artificial intelligence applications for senior living providers, has named Joe Anderson as advisor to its CEO, Ashutosh Saxena.

Anderson is an industry veteran who has worked for a variety of senior living organizations, including HumanGood. He most recently served as president of Seniority, Inc.
