Good Samaritan Names New CEO

Nathan Schema was named CEO for the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society early this month.

The move by Good Samaritan comes on the heels of its current CEO, Randy Bury, retiring at the end of this year.

Schema, who will assume the position of CEO on Jan. 1, most recently served as the vice president of operations with Good Sam. In all, he has been in long-term care for 15 years.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based Good Sam is one of the largest nonprofit senior living providers in the United States, with more than 350 locations. The organization has benefited from its 2019 merger with $6 billion health system Sanford Health, outgoing CEO Bury said during an appearance on Senior Housing News’ Transform podcast.

Lloyd Jones adds SVP

Lloyd Jones — a real estate development and management company with a growing senior living presence — announced on LinkedIn that Sheryl Klein will be the senior vice president of operations for Senior Living.

For Klein, this is her third stint as SVP of operations — she previously held the post with Somerby Senior Living and most recently with Bridge Senior Living.

Lloyd Jones COO and Executive Vice President of Senior Housing Tod Pettywelcomed Klein, saying on LinkedIn that “[Klein] will be partnering with me in serving our communities and growing the Lloyd Jones senior division.”

NewPoint Real Estate Capital Adds Two Originators

Bryan Dickson and Karen Kim joined NewPoint Real Estate Capital as managing directors of affordable originations, according to a press release.

Dickson, who has been in housing finance for more than 20 years, most recently served as regional director for Citi Community Capital.

Kim was a relationship manager with Greystone & Co., where she managed a portfolio of housing developers.

The additions expand NewPoint’s current Affordable Housing team.

OnShift Names SVP of Customer Success

Human capital management software firm OnShift announced that Mike DiComes will be its new senior vice president of customer success.

DiComes brings an array of experience to OnShift, having more than 20 years of experience in software including cyber security, payments, higher education, and health care.

Springpoint Living Gets a Director of Food Service

Springpoint Living at Manalapan, an assisted living and memory care community in New Jersey, announced this week that Gary Lessing is the new director of food services.

Lessing brings more than 15 years of experience in culinary, hospitality, and health care sectors.

Along with a plan to promote health living for seniors with healthy meals and plant-based options, Lessing will include a Mediterranean-style menu.

Springpoint Living at Manalapan opens later this year.

Cypress Living Taps Nurse As New IT Manager

Cypress Living tapped Dee Donoho-Alemany as its new enterprise applications manager.

Donoho-Alemany earned her licensed practical nursing degree in 2008 and served as a clinical leader for more than 15 years. Now, Donoho-Alemany is pursuing a degree in IT management.

In her clinical experience, she supported health care professionals and administrators alike both in regulatory policy and enterprise software applications.

Health Dimensions Group Announces Regional Sales and Marketing Director

Health Dimensions Group, a long-term care and senior living consulting and management firm, hired Scott Vanevenhoven as its regional director of sales and marketing.

Vanevenhoven will oversee the development of strategic plans of the company’s managed communities.

He previously served as the same role with Atrium Health & Senior Living where he oversaw marketing and referral source management.

The Springs Living has New Senior Executive Director

Oregon-based senior living operator The Springs Living announced Cari Buchholz will be its new senior executive director.

In the role, Buchholz will oversee the company’s three senior living communities in Salem, Oregon. In all, that includes about 300 residents and nearly 200 staff.

Previously, Buchholz was executive director for Emerald Pointe Senior Living in Keizer, OR.

Kisco Senior Living Welcomes New Community Director

Senior living development and management company Kisco Senior Living has hired Daizel Gasperian as executive director of its Emerald Court Community.

Gasperian’s career includes 28 years of experience in senior living and awards like Community of the Year, Excellence in Management, and President’s Award.

Emerald Court, located in North Orange County, California, has 118 independent living and 139 assisted living and memory care apartments.
