Two Senior Living Vets Join NexCore Group

Denver-based NexCore Group, a national healthcare real estate (HRE) developer, announced the addition of two senior housing industry veterans to Experience Senior Living (ESL). Andrew Brainard will serve as Vice President of Finance and Asset Management and Brandi Williamson has been named Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Brainard has two decades of commercial and residential real estate experience, with over a decade focused exclusively in the healthcare sector. Most recently, he worked as Assistant Vice President of Investments at Welltower Inc. (NYSE: WELL).

Brainard graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. degree in Geography followed by an M.B.A. in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Williamson joins Experience Senior Living with 20 years of experience in sales performance management within the senior housing industry, most recently with Balfour Senior Living. She holds a B.S. in Sport and Special Event Marketing from The University of South Alabama, attended Real Estate College of Colorado.

Real Estate Leader Joins Colliers

Former PGIM Real Estate Executive Director Christopher Fenton was recently named Senior Vice President of Senior Housing at Colliers.

Prior to working at PGIM Real Estate, Fenton spent six years at Berkadia as managing director and senior Vice President of loan originations.

He holds a Master of Science in finance from Bentley University and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Northeastern University.

At Colliers, Fenton will handle construction, bridge, mezzanine and permanent loans.

Chicago-area Community Bolsters Leadership Team

American House Senior Living Communities announced hiring Brad Jacobsen as executive director and Shannon Hopp as community relations director for American House Oak Park near Chicago.

Jacobsen brings 18 years of senior living experience primarily as an executive director and project manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, management and operations from Messiah University.

Hopp joins the American House Senior Living Communities team with seven years of senior housing experience having worked all levels of care within the industry.

Virginia Community Promotes New Director

An Erickson Senior Living community in Short Pump, Virginia recently named Todd DeLaney as executive director.

DeLaney will help lead staff at Avery Point, marking the community’s first-ever executive director of the 94-acre campus.

He started his career with Erickson Senior Living 17 years ago and has held a variety of leadership positions at various communities in the company’s portfolio. Most recently he served as executive director of Cedar Crest.

Two Join Florida Community

Blake Management in conjunction with Cardinal Ventures announced Misty Zulli as executive director and Reetu Haave as sales director of the Blake of Viera, an upscale luxury senior living community in Melbourne, Florida.

Zulli has 14 years of senior living experience from floor nurse to executive director. Haave has served as a sales and marketing director and administrator at various senior living communities.

Director Named for Wisconsin Community

Lifespace Communities announced Matt Monaco was named executive director of Newcastle Place, a senior living community in Mequon, Wisconsin after previously serving as associate executive director at Clarendale Clayton in Missouri.

He also once worked at the former Lifespace community Deerfield Retirement Community in Urbandale, Iowa.

Monaco received his Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management from Iowa State University, and his Master of Science in Hospitality Management from Purdue University.

Cadence Living Bolsters Management Team

Michelle Cornelius joined the corporate management team as Vice President of Memory Care Engagement, with the primary role over Revere Memory care programming across the Cadence portfolio of communities. She was previously the Chief Operating Officer at Cypress Homecare Solutions.

Cornelius also has a Masters of Social Work and a Masters of Education in Human Resource Development

Colorado Memory Care Community Hires Director

Anthem Memory Care appointed Cyndy Walters as community relations director for Greenridge Place in Westminster, Colorado.

Walters previously was director of community relations for Morningstar Senior Living of Littleton. Walters brings over 17 years of senior living experience to this position. She earned an associate degree from Mount Vernon College in Washington, DC and a bachelor’s in communication and drama from Mount Union University

Real Estate Firm Grows Senior Living Platform

NewPoint Real Estate Capital recently added Sean Huntsman as senior managing director of senior housing originations and Katherine Stewart as managing director to lead the company’s Seniors Housing Agency platform.

The pair will be based in NewPoint’s Irvine, California office with the team to target expansion into the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac senior housing space while originating proprietary bridge loan solutions for independent and assisted living properties.

Huntsman brings more than 30 years of experience originating Agency, bridge and construction loans for multifamily and senior housing communities. He joins NewPoint from M&T Realty Capital Corporation. Prior to that, Huntsman was Executive Managing Director with Barings Multifamily Capital. He also held roles with PNC Real Estate and ARCS Commercial Mortgage.

Stewart has over 20 years of real estate lending experience, 15 of which have focused on building and managing Agency senior housing platforms. She joins NewPoint from M&T Realty Capital Corporation. Stewart held prior roles at Barings Multifamily Capital, PNC Real Estate and ARCS Commercial Mortgage.

NewPoint acquired Housing & Healthcare Finance (HHC Finance) in December 2021, which augmented the firm’s product suite to offer HUD/FHA multifamily and healthcare financing.
