Assisted Living, Memory Care Community Planned in Connecticut

Senior Living Advisors (SLA) recently closed on a 7.5-acre parcel with Columbia Pacific Advisors for the construction of a new senior living community in in Orange, Connecticut.

The plan is to build a 175 unit senior community with three stories and about 163,000 square feet of space. SLA changed two parcels from industrial zoning to one which allows for senior living.

Dallas Community Announces Expansion and Renovation Project

Presbyterian Village North, a not-for-profit senior living community in Dallas, has announced a new expansion and renovation project.

The project will add a residential building with 112 one- to two-bedroom apartment homes ranging in size from 912 to 1,633 square feet. The new building, which is planned to sit on top of an underground parking garage and will connect to the community’s main building.

Workers are also set to renovate the community’s main dining room, mailroom and commons areas, including the main entryway. Work is now underway for the renovations, and Presbyterian anticipates breaking ground on the new building next spring.

Construction Starts for Blake Community in Texas

Blake Management Group and LifeCare Properties recently celebrated the groundbreaking of a new community in Waco, Texas.

The community, The Blake at Waco, is planned to have 112 assisted living and memory care units, with four to five floor plans ranging from studio to two-bedroom options. Planned amenities include restaurant-style dining, a chapel, courtyards, theater room, fitness center, spa and a business center.

New Perspective Targets Spring Opening for Wisconsin Project

New Perspective Senior Living has opened a rental office at its forthcoming community in Franklin, Wisconsin.

The community is set to have 149 for independent living, assisted living and memory care residents. Planned amenities include a two-story lobby and reception area with fireplaces, water features and stone; a wellness center with an indoor warm-water pool; beauty salon and spa; activity center; movie theater; and dance hall.

New Perspective hopes to open the new community in the spring of 2020.

Forthcoming Heartis Community in Florida Opens Sales Office

Caddis and Solvere Living are collaborating on a community that’s coming together in Venice, Florida.

The community, Heartis Venice, recently opened a sales office. It’s planned to open in the summer of 2020 with 182 independent living, assisted living and memory care units. Planned amenities include a swimming pool, fitness center, salon and spa, barber shop, walking paths, art studio, theater, game room and business center.

Solvere Living will manage the community once it opens.

Work Begins on Affordable Community in Georgia

Workers with the McShane Construction Company recently broke ground on Legends of Covington, a new affordable senior living community in Covington, Georgia.

As planned, Legends of Convington will have 198 units and amenities that include a hair salon, library, laundry room, theater, fitness center and space for storage.

The project architect is Martin Riley Associates. Dominium will manage the community when it opens in 2021.

Thrive Debuts Maryland Community

Thrive Senior Living is preparing to open its newest community, Tribute at Melford, in Bowie, Maryland. This is the provider’s first senior living communiyt in the state.

The 140-unit assisted living and memory care community has amenities for residents such as an elevated courtyard, bistro, library, creative studio, fitness center, salon, cafe and a community garden.

All of the assisted living suites also come equipped with SmartSuite technology that lets residents control lighting, music and calendars.

Benchmark Opens Second Long Island Community

Benchmark has opened Orchard Estate of Woodbury, the company’s second assisted living community on Long Island.

The 89-unit community has a bistro, wellness center, family room with a full kitchen and dining room, second floor balcony and landscaped walking path. EW Howell Construction Group was the project’s construction manager.

Pathway, Caddis Open Heartis Community in Wisconsin

Pathway to Living and Caddis have opened Heartis Village Brookfield, a senior living community in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

The 105-unit assisted living and memory care community has amenities such as multiple dining venues, a theater, salon and spa, library, demonstration kitchen, walking paths and an exercise and therapy gym.

Strategic Student & Senior Housing Expands Oregon Community

Strategic Student & Senior Housing Trust, a public, non-traded real estate investment trust sponsored by SmartStop Asset Management has opened a new 23-unit memory care building at its Courtyard at Mt. Tabor community in Portland, Oregon.

R&H Construction built the new memory care neighborhood, which was designed by Ankrom Moisan. Integral Senior Living (ISL) manages the property.

Good Samaritan Society Expands Florida Community

The Good Samaritan Society’s community in DeLand, Florida, has a new 90-bed assisted living and memory care expansion.

The 276-unit campus has studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites for assisted living, memory care, rehab and skilled nursing, long-term care and outpatient therapy.

Sagora Opens California Community

Sagora Senior Living has opened a new senior living community in Rocklin, California.

The three-story independent living community has 130 apartments with one- and two-bedroom options for residents.

Vestcor Communities Unveils Florida Project

The Vestcor Companies has completed construction for The Grove at Canopy, a 118-unit senior living community in Tallahassee, Florida.

Amenities include multiple dining venues, a spa and salon, piano parlor, lounges and a multipurpose room for movies and events. Starling Senior Living is operating the community.

Resort Lifestyle Communities Opens Illinois Community

Resort Lifestyle Communities has announced the opening of Huntley Springs, a senior living community in Huntley, Illinois.

The community has 128 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments for residents. The community has an in-house bank, business center, pharmacy, fitness center, game room, 150-seat theater, gift shop and a salo.n

Kansas City Office Building Becomes Senior Living

ARCO Living Group has completed construction of Anthology of The Plaza, a 94-bed assisted living and memory care community housed in a former five-story office building in Kansas City.

Amenities at the community include a fitness and wellness center, salon and theater, activity rooms, media center, covered balconies, parking garage and a pub with wraparound bar seating.

Residents Move In At Watermark Community in Arizona

Residents are getting settled in at Hacienda at the Canyon, a new Watermark Retirement Communities property in Tucson, Arizona.

The community is now moving in residents in its 163 independent living residences. The community is currently working on a second construction phase of casitas and bungalow residences that are set to open in 2020 nd 2021.

The official grand opening of the community is planned for Jan. 10.

Other noteworthy projects:

Planned

— A proposed development would bring 81 units of friendly senior housing to what’s currently a community garden in the Chicago neighborhood of Rogers Park.

— A plan to open an intergenerational senior housing community in the Bay Area in California will now have more affordable/mid-market units than originally outlined.

In progress

— The Masonic Care community in Utica, New York, is adding more room for residents.

Complete

— Riverwoods Group has opened its long-awaited community in Durham, New Hampshire.
