Atria, Related Cos. Project Planned in New York State

Atria Senior Living, Related Companies and KOSL Building are seeking to build and open a senior living community in New Rochelle, New York.

Local news site Westfair was the first to report on the project Monday. Atria Senior Living confirmed the project’s details with Senior Housing News. As planned, the community will include 190 units for residents.

Atria and Related in 2018 first announced a $3 billion pipeline to open luxury senior living communities in major urban markets across the U.S.

Charter, DMK Plan Kentucky Community

Charter Senior Living and DMK Development Group are partnering for the development of a new senior living community in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

As planned, the community will have 115 units and amenities including multiple dining venues, an activity room, beauty and barber salon, library, fitness center, landscaped courtyards, a putting green and spaces for gardens.

The project is waiting on final approvals, but construction could start as soon as this fall, with a target completion date in the winter of 2021.

Atlas, DMK Break Ground on Florida Community

Atlas Senior Living and DMK are breaking ground on a new community in Venice, Florida.

The community, Legacy Reserve Venice, is planned to have 167 units, and include amenities and services such as dining venues with flexible hours, educational programs with guest speakers and a memory care philosophy centered on residents.

Legacy Reserve Venice is the first Atlas community in Venice and the operator’s fourth in the The Sunshine State.

Expansion Work Starts at Minnesota Facility

Construction crews are now working on a $15 million expansion at Madison Healthcare Services, a health care facility with skilled nursing, a hospital and senior services in Madison, Minnesota.

The expansion includes 37 skilled nursing units, 12 assisted living units and a 12-car underground parking lot. HGA Architects designed the project, which is expected to wrap up in the summer of 2022.

Two New Del Webb Projects Coming Together in Florida

Workers have broken ground on two Del Webb projects located in Tampa and Jacksonville, Florida.

In Tampa, the company broke ground on Del Webb BayView, a 55-plus community with single-family and villa homes available. As planned, the community will also have a clubhouse, two pools, an onsite restaurant and bar, 12 sports courts, a community garden, dog park and a private amphitheater.

Del Webb expects to start construction on the development’s decorated home models early next year, with an initial opening slated for July.

In Jacksonville, Del Webb is working on a new 13,000 square foot amenity center at its recently opened Del Webb eTown community.

The new amenity center, The Gallery, is planned to have social rooms, a tavern and a separate fitness center with TechnoGym equipment. If all goes according to plan, the addition will open in the fall of 2021.

Senior Lifestyle Announces Renovation Project for Maryland Community

Senior Lifestyle Corp. has begun a renovation project at Atrium Village, a community in Owings Mills Maryland.

The project will include the building’s exterior and facade as well as its interior corridors, elevator and lobby. Workers will also renovate every apartment in the community. The work will also upgrade the community’s common areas, restaurant-style dining venues and a lounge area and a family center.

The Atrium Village project is targeted to wrap up in the summer of 2021.

Kansas Community Celebrates Opening of New Building

Village Shalom, a a Jewish-sponsored continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Overland Park, Kansas, has opened a four-story apartment building.

The apartment building adds to the CCRC 76 apartments and a first-floor “main street” with a restaurant, bistro, pub, theater and day spa.

Illinois Life Plan Community Opens $24M Rehab Wing

Smith Crossing, a life plan community in Orland Park, Illinois, has opened a new rehabilitation wing with a total project cost of about $24 million.

The new facility has 46 private suites, a gym, private therapy rooms, outdoor rehab space and respiratory therapy for short-term stay programs and post-surgical care. The rehab wing accepts Medicare, third-party insurance and private-pay patients.

Kirco, Phoenix Wrap Up Work for Alabama Community

Kirco and Phoenix Senior Living have announced the completion of The Bluffs at Greystone, an independent and assisted living community in Birmingham, Alabama.

The 137-unit community includes amenities such as an indoor pool, wellness center, yoga studio, multiple dining venues, pub, salon and spa, outdoor pickle ball and bocce ball courts.

Kirco is an investor and developer of senior living communities. Phoenix Senior Living is the community’s operator.

Allegro Managing New Active Adult Community in Minnesota

High Street Residential has completed Avidor Minnetonka, a 168-unit active adult community in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

The community is slated to welcome residents later this month under the operation of the Allegro Management Company. Rental units come in one- and two-bedroom styles, with high-end finishes that include upgraded lighting fixtures, stainless-steel appliances, granite countertops, tiled backsplashes,in-unit washers and dryers, nine-foot ceilings and private balconies.

Amenities include a hotel-like lobby, bistro and bar, business center, activity center and club room, pet spa, fitness center and yoga studio, private dining and multiple dining venues, a catering kitchen, and a resort style pool deck with an outdoor kitchen, fire pits, a hot tub and a lawn.

ESG Architects was the project’s architect of record, and Stevens Construction was its general contractor.

Atlas Community Opens in Georgia

Atlas Senior Living has officially opened the doors at Legacy Reserve at Old Town in Columbus, Georgia.

Residences include studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom options, with multiple dining venues and other amenities including a day spa, sports bar, putting green, outdoor terrace entertainment area with patio seating, library with computers and complimentary Wi-Fi, fitness and wellness center, dog park and an indoor saltwater pool.

— A proposed mixed-use development in Braselton, Georgia, could include a 150-unit senior living community.

Plans are in the works to build an assisted living community in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
