Movers & Shakers: New 12 Oaks President; Synchrony Names Trilogy Founder Bufford CEO

Greg Puklicz named President of 12 Oaks

Dallas, Texas-based 12 Oaks Senior Living announced Greg Puklicz as its new president, effective December 2021.

Puklicz, who joined 12 Oaks as CFO in 2018, will retain his CFO position as well as his positions on the executive committee, leadership committee, and as director of business development.

Five Star Senior Living adds memory care director

A.J. Cipperly is the new National Director of Memory Care at Five Star Senior Living, according to an announcement on LinkedIn. Cipperly holds certifications in dementia care, assisted living, and independent training.

Cipperly will manage Five Star’s dementia care program, Bridge to Rediscovery.

Veritas’ East Ridge Residence taps Amy Silvers as executive director

Certified dementia practitioner Amy Silvers is the new executive director of East Ridge, Tennessee-based East Ridge Residence, an independent living community managed by Veritas Senior Living.

Silvers’ passion for seniors living began at an early age due to the work of her mother, a CNA at a skilled nursing facility, and her grandmother who volunteered at senior housing communities.

She brings 18 years of experience to her new role wherein she will oversee day-to-day operations and manage all employees.

Cypress Cove adds resident to board

Rita McSharry, a Cypress Cove resident, has been selected to serve a three-year term as a representative on the board of directors.

Resident representatives have been part of Cypress Cove since 2017 to ensure that residents have a voice in the Fort Myers, Florida-based community.

McSharry spent nearly 30 years in the health care and pharmaceutical industries working in various roles and departments such as sales and marketing, analytical research, and medical information as a medical writer/editor.

Since she arrived at Cypress Cove in 2014, she has served on the resident council and has been a liaison to the resident medical committee.

Oakmont Senior Living names executive director for new California community

Irvine, California-based Oakmont Senior Living announced Sam El-Rabba will be the executive director of its newest community, Oakmont of Agoura Hills, which is set to open later this year.

El-Rabba, a veteran of the hospitality industry, previously worked as general manager of the Balboa Bay Resort and Club in Newport Beach, California, and as hotel manager at Meritage Resort and Spa in Napa.

The new luxury community that El-Rabba will oversee offers five-star amenities such as a fitness center, movie theatre, library, pet park, and indoor/outdoor activity spaces.

Fred Bentley to join ATI Advisory

Research and advisory firm ATI Advisory announced the addition of Fred Bentley as managing director, to focus on health care delivery and payment innovation across the continuum of aging services.

Bentley, who is considered an expert in health care guidance for post-acute and long-term care organizations, was most recently managing director of the Center for Healthcare Transformation at Avalere Health where he concentrated on Medicare and Medicaid payment and delivery.

New Massachusetts memory care community finds executive director

Anthemion Senior Lifestyles announced that Maria Lastoria will be the executive director of the Cordwainer memory care and assisted living facility that will open in Norwell, Massachusetts later this year.

Lastoria, who most recently served as regional director of operations of six senior living communities in New England, brings more than 30 years of experience to her new position.

She was named Executive Director of the Year by the Massachusetts Assisted Living Association.

LeadingAge Board of Directors names new chair and adds two members

LeadingAge, the national association of nonprofit and mission-driven aging services providers, named Mike King chair of its board of directors, according to a press release.

King, who has served on the board since 2015, is the national President and CEO of Volunteers of America. He succeeds Carol Silver Elliot.

LeadingAge also added Steve Bahmer and Ursula Robinson to the board.

Lori Silinskie named regional VP for Integral Senior Living

Carlsbad, California-based Integral Senior Living announced Lori Silinskie will join the firm as regional vice president of operations.

Silinskie brings more than 30 years of experience to ISL including time managing senior living portfolios that topped 7,000 units and $250 million in annual revenue.

At ISL, Silinskie will oversee the operations of several ISL communities.

Omega parts ways with development chief

Omega Healthcare Investors (NYSE: OHI) announced the mutual parting of ways with Chief Corporate Development Officer Steven Insoft. The separation became effective on Jan. 1, 2022.

Trilogy Founder will lead subsidiary platform Synchrony

Randall Bufford, Founder and former CEO of Trilogy Health Services, will serve as president and CEO of Synchrony Health Services, Trilogy’s ancillary services subsidiary.

Synchrony Health will now also include Synchrony Pharmacy, Synchrony Wellness Pharmacy, Synchrony Rehabilitation, and Synchrony Lab, according to a release.

Bufford will lead the effort to raise capital from third-party investors to fund Synchrony’s expansion plans.

In 2019, Bufford stepped down as Trilogy’s president and CEO. He was succeeded by Leigh Ann Barney. Louisville, Kentucky-based Trilogy ranked as the 13th-largest senior living operator in the United States, on the 2021 annual list compiled by industry association Argentum.
