MedCore Partners Expands Senior Living Team

MedCore Partners is growing its senior housing platform with the addition of two new staffers.

The firm appointed Anthony Fulco as the senior housing director of acquisitions and Jack Burt as senior vice president of operations.

In his new role, Fulco will handle sourcing, underwriting and closing of acquisitions at MedCore. He has more than a decade of senior housing and health care investment experience, and previously worked with Thrive F.P. and Virtus Real Estate Capital.

Burt, meanwhile, is responsible for developing MedCore’s asset management platform. He will focus on operational best practices, performance measurement tools, growth strategy and direct oversight of assigned operators. Burt previously worked as a managing partner of senior living for operations consulting company Net Operating Impact.

Senior Living Communities Announces New Hires

Senior Living Communities has added a regional leader at its corporate office and hired personnel at three of its communities.

The company is welcoming Kate Leach as its new regional sales director. Leach has a decade of experience in the healthcare industry in various sales and marketing roles.

Senior Living Communities also hired Lynn Young to work as a lifestyle advisor at Brightwater, a retirement community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Young has 33 years of experience working in sales and marketing.

At Wildewood Downs, a community owned and operated by Senior Living Communities in Columbia, South Carolina, Senior Living Communities hired Amy McCauley as executive chef.

Additionally, Senior Living Communities’ sister brand, Wellmore, added Carley Nitchie as a social director at Wellmore of Daniel Island in Charleston, South Carolina.

Waterton Hires VP of Investor Relations

National real estate investor and operator Waterton has hired Stella Pappas as a vice president of investor relations on its investor relations team. Pathway to Living is Waterton’s senior housing arm.

In her new role, Pappas will help to manage the firm’s investor and consultant relations and develop new relationships for its multifamily, senior living and hotel strategies.

Pappas has more than 15 years of experience in the real estate investment, acquisition and asset management space, and previously worked for Allstate Investments and Tremont Realty Capital.

Oakmont Hires Chef for Forthcoming Community in California

Oakmont Senior Living has named Roberto Neri as a chef at Oakmont of Camarillo, a senior living community set to open this winter in Ventura County, California.

Neri has experience working as a culinarian overseas. He previously helped open a restaurant in London, and also worked with the Four Seasons Hotel family opening restaurants in Amman, Jordan and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

AG Architecture Welcomes Senior Living Designer

AG Architecture has added Andrew Alden to its design team.

As part of his new role, Alden will help aid clients and projects that include Nelson Development, which is working on an assisted living and memory care project in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

He has more than 20 years of experience, with a resume that include senior-focused projects.

Netsmart Names Senior Living Vice President

Health information technology company Netsmart recently appointed Dennis Jakubowicz to work as vice president and general manager of its senior living business unit.

Jakubowicz is responsible for helping guide the company through strategic business development and management in the senior living space. He has more than 30 years experience in health care, having previously worked for more than six years as senior vice president at MatrixCare.

Creating Results Hires Vice President

Senior living marketing firm Creating Results has brought Vicki Shelton aboard as vice president of business solutions.

In the new role, Shelton will collaborate with senior living providers to help develop and implement marketing strategies.

She has nearly 25 years of experience, and has spent time working with Brookdale Senior Living (NYSE: BKD), Five Star Senior Living (NASDAQ: FVE), Trilogy Health Services and American Senior Communities.

Newmark Knight Frank Grows Global Healthcare Services Platform

Newmark Knight Frank has added Jay Miele and John Nero to its global healthcare services (GHS) practice group.

In their new roles of senior managing director and managing director, respectively, Miele and Nero will advise health systems, developers and institutions on portfolio optimization, capital needs, growth and financial strategies.

The duo joins Newmark Knight Frank from Hammond Hanlon Camp, where they worked in healthcare real estate advisory.
