Kendal Names VPs of Marketing Communications, Sales

The Kendal Corporation has promoted Laura Jones from director of market research and strategy to the role of vice president of marketing and communications; and Howard Braxton from the role of director of marketing and sales to vice president of marketing and sales.

Jones has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and sales, and started her career at Kendal-Crosslands Communities. She later returned to Kendal in 2019.

Braxton, meanwhile, has a career that includes experience at Genesis HealthCare, Kindred Health Care and Acts Retirement-Life Communities. He joined Kendal in 2017.

LCS Bolsters New Business Development Team

LCS has promoted Zane Bennett to work as director of business development in a move to lay the foundation for its growth strategy. His new role is effective Oct. 1.

Bennett will work with two other recent additions to the company’s business development team, Joe Weisenburger and Ross Nichols. In his new role, he will work with Weisenburger to grow topline revenue for Life Care Services, the LCS company responsible for senior living management services.

Bennett previously worked as executive director for Plantation Village in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Cadence Names Community Marketing Specialist for West Region

Cadence Living has named Stacy Cullen to the role of community marketing specialist for the company’s western region.

In her new role, Cullen is tasked with supporting community marketing directors with increased occupancy strategies for Cadence’s managed communities in the western U.S.

She has more than 20 years of business development and sales and marketing experience, and has worked with companies such as Procter & Gamble, Nephron Pharmaceuticals, Pacifica Senior Living, Marquis Senior Living and Home Care Assistance.

Lifespace Names Executive Director for Dallas Community

Lifespace Communities appointed John Falldine to work as executive director of Edgemere, a senior living community in Dallas.

He has worked for Edgemere before, first as director of operations when the community first opened in 2001; and again as managing director from 2007 to 2017.

Virginia Community Names Independent Living Manager

Waltonwood Ashburn, a senior living community in Ashburn, Virginia, has named Tracy Philemon to the role of independent living manager.

In her new role, Philemon will focus on resident relations and communication while leading operations. She also will act as “customer service champion” for independent living residents.

Philemon began her career in senior living in 2010 as a business development manager responsible for the operation of eight communities.

Anthem Names Community Relations Director in Minnesota

Anthem Memory Care has named Evonne Schlobohm community relations director for Cascade Creek, a memory care community slated to open later this summer in Rochester, Minnesota.

In her new role, Schlobohm will handle community outreach and marketing. She most recently worked as sales and marketing director for Prairie Meadows Senior Living in Kasson, Minnesota.

Epoch Community in Massachusetts Names Senior Advisor

Epoch at Westford, an Epoch Senior Living memory care assisted living community in Westford, Massachusetts, has named Cynthia Schultz to the role of senior advisor.

As senior advisor, Shultz’s responsibilities include educating and assisting area families on senior living and caregiving as. She also will aid senior services professionals who are seeking specialized memory care solutions.

Florida Life Plan Community Cypress Cove Names Sales Manager

Cypress Cove, a life plan community in Fort Myers, Florida, has named Maureen Oravec to the role of sales manager.

Oravec joined Cypress Cove in November 2020, first as a retirement counselor with a focus on prospect engagement and sales for the community’s soon-to-be-built neighborhood, The Oaks at Cypress Cove.

NCAL Names Executive Director

The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) has appointed LaShuan Bethea as an executive director. She is due to start her new role on Sept. 1.

She comes to NCAL from Genesis HealthCare, where she works as vice president of legislative affairs and reimbursement. Bethea is taking over for Scott Tittle, who worked as NCAL’s executive director since 2015 and is leaving the organization to join Vium Capital as a managing director and head of government relations and external affairs.

Greystone Appoints Vice President for FHA Lending

Karen Ford has joined Greystone as vice president on the company’s FHA lending team.

Ford will work in a leadership role on the FHA platform. She comes to Greystone from Love Funding, where she worked as executive vice president and COO. She has more than 30 years of experience in the multifamily and health care loan industry.

Haven Senior Investments Names SVP of Consulting and Managed Services

Haven Senior Investments is welcoming John Gonzales as its new senior vice president of consulting and management services.

In his new role, Gonzales will be responsible for the consulting and managed services team and driving revenue. He has more than 30 years of experience in senior housing and has in the past held various facility-, regional- and corporate-level positions

LeadingAge New York Retirement Housing Cabinet Picks New President

Christa Picciano-Daniello is now president of LeadingAge New York’s Retirement Housing Cabinet and a service line representative to the organization’s board of directors.

She currently works as vice president of sales at The Osborn, a non-profit continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Rye, New York.

Gayco Healthcare Adds Director of Pharmacy Engagement Role

Long-term health care pharmacy Gayco Healthcare has hired Michael Holtzclaw for the newly created role of director of pharmacy engagement.

In his new position, Holtzclaw’s primary area of focus will be in South Carolina, with a secondary focus in North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Mississippi and Alabama. He brings to the role more than 18 years of direct senior living experience.

BKV Group Adds Three to National Design Practice

Design firm BKV Group has appointed three to work on its national design practice.

The company named Trace Jacques to the role of partner and senior architectural designer, with an emphasis on hospitality; David Banta as senior living lead for the Washington, D.C., practice site and associate partner; and Collin Koonce as landscape architecture lead for the Dallas practice site and associate partner.

As partner and senior architectural designer, Jacques is reponsible for leading and collaborating with the firm’s hospitality team. He has a more than 35-year career overall.

Banta in his new role will continue to grow BKV Group’s senior living portfolio, while Koonce, as associate partner and landscape architecture discipline lead, will continue to work across property sectors and provide architecture, engineering, design and planning services to the firm’s clients.
