Erickson Opens Sales Center for Planned Community

Erickson Living has opened a sales center for Avery Point, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) slated to open in Short Pump, Virginia.

Construction will occur in phases, with the first phase consisting of two residence buildings with 218 units and a community clubhouse scheduled to start work later this year. All told, the community is expected to cost north of $500 million.

Avery Point’s first residents are expected to move into the community in 2022.

Austin Life Plan Community Breaks Ground on Expansion

Westminster, a life plan community in Austin, Texas, recently broke ground on a new expansion project.

The five-story expansion, dubbed The Carlisle will add 117 units. Residents have access to a wide variety of amenities, such as an onsite clinic, rehab and physical therapy rooms, gyms and a day spa with massage services and an indoor pool.

The project was designed and constructed by Austin-based Pi Architects and White Construction Company. Life Care Services is the community’s manager.

California Life Plan Community Expansion to Open in October

A new assisted living and memory care complex is coming together next to to the Reata Glen life plan community in Rancho Mission Viejo, California.

The expansion, called The Orchards, will have 58 apartments and amenities such as a “family fun zone” with games like air hockey, multiple TVs and NFL football parties on the weekends; a fireplace; media room; private dining; library; conference room; fitness center; a courtyard; and an outdoor bocce court.

If all goes according to plan, the new assisted living and memory care expansion will open in October. The Orchards is also set to open a 71-bed skilled nursing facility in early 2021.

Virginia Community Under Construction Hosts ‘Sneak Peek’

Retirement Unlimited hosted a “sneak peek” and “sign-the-beam” event to announce the opening of a sales gallery at The Westmont at Short Pump, a 123-unit community under construction in Short Pump, Virginia.

Amenities at the planned community include a library, theater, billiards and game rooms, coffee shop, salon and spa, fitness center and a wellness center.

Clearwater Community Nears End of Construction in Nevada

Clearwater at Rancharrah, an assisted living and memory care community from Clearwater Living in Reno, Nevada, has opened its model apartments to prospective residents.

The community will have 129 private and semi-private apartments, with access to multiple dining venues, theater and learning center, poker den, salon, fitness center and a bocce ball court.

AmeriCare Opens Flagship Community

Residents have started to move into Silvergate Rancho Bernardo, a new flagship senior living community from AmeriCare Health & Retirement and developer Ryan Companies.

The community has 20 cottages, 108 apartments, six penthouses and 48 memory care units for residents. It represents the third AmeriCare development of its kind, and the company considers it a “flagship community.”

Amenities include a media center, lounge, banquet room, theater, mail room, health center, spa, yoga studio, fitness center, art studio, card room and game lounge. Warner Design Associates designed the community’s interior.

Engel Burman Opens New Community in New York

The Engel Burman Group has opened The Bristal at Mount Sinai, a 120-unit assisted living and memory care community in Mount Sinai, New York.

Residents of the community can take part in creative arts programs, physical fitness classes and educational seminars while enjoying amenities such as a cinema, library, card and billiards room and fitness center.

Monthly rates start at $5,200, with memory care studio apartments starting at $8,400.

Clearwater Opens California Community

Clearwater Living is welcoming residents into Clearwater at Sonoma Hills, a 94-apartment assisted living and memory care community in Rohnert Park, California.

Residents have access to multiple dining venues, a theater, learning center, poker den, art studio, salon, fitness center, bocce ball and putting green.

Integral Senior Living Community in Tennessee Now Open

Integral Senior Living has opened South High Senior Living, a new senior living community in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The community is located inside the restored South High School, which originally closed in 1976. The community has a salon, a piano lounge, a private dining room and other amenities for residents.

Gardner Capital Completes Texas Community

Gardner Capital announced the completion of Gala at Four Corners, a 93-unit active adult community in Sugar Land, Texas.

The community has a resort-style pool and fitness centers, scheduled activities, an internet lounge and covered porches.

Affordable Assisted Living Community to Open in Indiana

A new affordable assisted lifestyle community is opening this week in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The community, Evergreen Village, will have residential apartment homes for residents with available personal assistance, medication administration and and other support services, such as meals, housekeeping, laundry and transportation. Amenities include a bistro, private dining room, lounges, fitness center, recreation room and theater, a library and computer room.

The community’s project partners include The Architectural Team, T&W Corporation and operator Gardant Management Solutions.

— Riley/Spence Senior Living has opened two new assisted living communities in Arnold, Missouri, which is near St. Louis.
