Almanac Invests in Pathway to Living Parent Waterton

Almanac Realty Investors has acquired a passive, minority ownership stake in Waterton, the national real estate investor and operator that is the parent company to Pathway to Living.

Chicago-based Waterton – known for residential and real estate operations – has since last year been exploring a minority sale to inject liquidity into its balance sheet, according to a report by PERE.

The investment is expected to expand Waterton’s growth in senior living as well as in other real estate classes by impacting day-to-day management and operations practices.

Almanac, the private real estate investment arm of Neuberger Berman, was a partner fit because among other reasons, it focuses on real estate investments.

Goodwin House Acquires Pinnacle Living Community

Goodwin House Inc. announced it has acquired a Virginia-based independent living, assisted living and long-term care facility formerly owned by Pinnacle Living.

The community – called Hermitage Northern Virginia – is currently home to 100 residents with more than 100 employees on a seven-acre campus in Alexandria, Virginia.

Goodwin House is a non-profit organization that is affiliated with the Episcopal Church with a portfolio that includes two life plan communities, a continuing care retirement community, and home health care services.

Ziegler Closes $27M for Southern Carolina Operator

Specialty investment bank Ziegler announced the successful closing of $27.5 million Series 2022A and 2022B bonds for The Lutheran Homes of South Carolina.

Lutheran Homes of South Carolina is a non-profit operator in South Carolina with a portfolio that includes five life plan communities that include 1,077 units of senior living care in independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing. They also have three hospice offices, and four in-home service agencies.
