Aegis Names Infection Control Officer, Adds Another Starbucks Alum
Aegis Living has named former COO Tom Laborde as its new infection control and safety officer.
Laborde, who spent 22 years with Aegis — including as its COO — will work with the company’s senior management team to assess, develop and implement new infection control technologies and measures across all of its senior living properties.
The company this year hired Tony Pisa to provide operational leadership in California and Nevada as a senior vice president of operations. Pisa formerly led multi-unit operations at Starbucks, Kizuki Ramen and Kinkos.
Additionally, Aegis also announced that Ashleigh Pedersen is joining the company as an enterprise culinary service director, a role that will task her with evolving and developing the company’s culinary wellness program. And, Aegis named Jennifer Alexy as senior vice president of sales.
Ventas Names Board Member
Ventas (NYSE: VTR) has appointed Equity LifeStyle Properties President and CEO Marguerite Nader to its board of directors.
Equity LifeStyle Properties is a Chicago-based real estate investment trust (REIT) that owns and operates over 400 housing manufactured housing communities, RV resorts and campgrounds and across the United States and British Columbia.
In the past two decades, Nader has worked in a variety of departments that include asset management, sales and marketing, finance and acquisitions. She previously served on the board of directors of Liberty Property Trust (NYSE: LPT), and is a current member of the executive board at National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (Nareit).
Cadence Living Names Chief Marketing Officer
Cadence Living has appointed David Haack to the role of chief marketing officer.
Haack has more than 27 years of experience in senior living and health care sales and marketing, with time spent at Mercury Pharmacy Services, Emeritus and Sun Healthcare Group. He most recently was executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Living Care Lifestyles.
Hutson Joins Claiborne Senior Living as Marketing VP
Claiborne Senior Living has named Humangood’s former chief strategy officer, Dan Hutson, to the position of vice president of marketing.
Hutson has more than 30 years of marketing and communications experience. As Humangood’s chief strategy officer, he oversaw strategic planning, sales and marketing, corporate communications, innovation and experience design.
Buckner Hires Healthcare Administer for Houston Community
Buckner Retirement Services has hired Todd Werthman as the new healthcare administrator for Buckner Parkway Place, a faith-based senior living community in Houston.
Werthman has since held many positions in Texas, Florida and North Carolina as a licensed nursing home administrator. He also is a certified assisted living director in Texas and has been for 15 years.
Plante Moran Announces Executive Promotions
Plante Moran Living Forward, the senior living development and consulting branch of Plante Moran Cresa has promoted Sally Heffernan to senior vice president, and Jacob Boss and Kyle DeHenau to vice president.
Heffernan is the practice leader for the firm’s market study service line. She is also part of a national senior housing task force aimed at elevating standards for market studies and analyses.
Boss is an analyst on the market study team, and DeHenau is a program manager with the PMLF team
Lighthouse Senior Living Names Marketing Director
Lighthouse Senior Living, a provider with locations in Ellicott City and Essex, Maryland, has named Alex Parker as director of marketing.
Parker previously spent three decades in sports broadcasting as a television executive, producer and host. He is also the son of a longtime Lighthouse Senior Living resident.
