Resort Lifestyle Communities to Break Ground on North Carolina Project
Resort Lifestyle Communities held a Feb. 18 ceremony event to mark the groundbreaking of a new senior living community in Morrisville, North Carolina.
The $30 millon community, Brier Pointe, is slated to have an in-house bank, pharmacy, general store and salon that are all open to the public. Residents can choose from studio-, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
Mixed-Use, University-Aligned Senior Living Project Underway in Oklahoma
Integral Senior Living (ISL) is slated to manage Sooner Station, a senior living community with university ties and located in a mixed-use development in Norman, Oklahoma.
As planned, the community will have 189 units of independent living, assisted living and memory care alongside multiple dining venues, an education center, salon and spa, fitness center, club rooms, theater, meditation garden and an interconnected courtyard pool.
The community also recently announced a new partnership with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Oklahoma. The partnership will allow the institute to use Sooner Station’s campus as an extension for its courses starting in 2022.
Sooner Station is the product of a joint venture among MedCore Partners, TNRG and ACRON USA. BOK Financial is financing the project, while Pi Architects is handling architectural and engineering, interior design and landscape design services. Cowen Construction is building the community.
Clearwater Opens Community in Nevada, Information Center in California
Clearwater Living has opened a new community in Nevada and is making progress on another in California.
In Reno, Nevada, Clearwater opened Clearwater at Rancharrah, an assisted living and memory care community with 129 apartments in a variety of floorplans, including shared and private options. Amenities include different dining venues, a theater and learning center, poker den, salon, fitness center and bocce ball court.
The operator also opened an information center at its Clearwater at North Tustin community under construction in North Tustin, California.
The assisted living and memory is planned to have 110 apartments with both private and shared options for residents. Amenities include multiple dining options, an outdoor amphitheater, chapel, theater and learning center, creative studio, game room, salon, fitness center and a dog park.
Watercrest, St. Joe Welcome First Residents at Florida Community
Residents are now moving into Watercrest Santa Rosa Beach, a senior living community in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, that is part of a joint-venture development project between Watercrest Senior Living Group and St. Joe.
The 107-unit assisted living and memory care community includes amenities such as a spa, multiple dining options with private-label Watercrest wines, pool, salon and spa, children’s play space, balconies and “Florida-style” outdoor living spaces. The community also includes Watercrest’s faux-outdoor streetscape concept with multi-sensory memory care programming for residents.
Atria Opens Tech-Focused Community in California
Atria Senior Living has opened Atria Newport Beach, a senior living community in Newport Beach, California, that could be a window into the operator’s future.
The roughly 77,000 square foot community is slated to come with several technology offerings, such as apartments with smart thermostat and lighting and automatic window shades; wearable technology for keyless entry, fall-detection, communication; and contact-tracing. Amenities include multiple dining venues, a fitness center, yoga studio, salon and spa, theater, game room and library.
Minnesota Community to Open New Health Center
Friendship Village of Bloomington, a not-for-profit senior living community in Bloomington, Minnesota, has announced the opening of the first phase of a new health center.
The project is adding 16 assisted living apartment homes and five memory care suites to the senior living community. The three-story building also has a courtyard, game and activity room, and spa bath.
The latest phase is part of a $114.5 million expansion and redevelopment initiative, which also includes a new independent living building with 93 apartments and a new skilled nursing building with 66 units.
Kraus-Anderson was the community’s general contractor, and SAS Architects handled the health center’s architectural design.
Chelsea Senior Living Opens Independent Living Community in New York
Chelsea Senior Living has announced the opening of The Residences at Plainview.
The community has newly renovated studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments with full kitchens for residents. Amenities include several eateries, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a putting green, sauna, fitness facilities, movie theater, art studio, salon and barber shop.
Legacy Completes Dallas Project
Legacy Senior Communities has put the finishing touches on The Legacy Midtown Park, a community in Dallas with 261 independent living assisted living and memory care residences alongside 54 private skilled nursing and rehabilitation suites.
Residents have access to amenities such as a 30-seat movie theater, aquatics center with indoor heated pool, gym and aerobics studio, golf simulator, salon, sanctuary and event venue, multiple dining options and outdoor amenities such as a deck with bocce ball court, a dog park and underground parking with car charging stations.
Legacy first broke ground on the 12-acre, $186 million development in 2018. Design partners included D2 Architecture and StudioSix5.
Anthology Opens New Community in Pennsylvania
Anthology Senior Living has opened a new community in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
The community, Anthology Senior Living of King of Prussia, has 190 apartments and spans 11 stories. Residents have access to amenities such as a pool, rooftop terrace, fitness center and dining venues with seasonal offerings.

— Plans are moving forward for a new assisted living community in Jacksonville, Florida.
— A new senior living development is taking shape near Dayton, Ohio.
— New Perspective Senior Living is planning a new community in Arden Hills, Minnesota.
— Plans are moving ahead for a $20 million senior housing complex in Endicott, New York.
— Local officials in Fairfax County, Virginia, have given the OK to plans for a new independent living community in McLean.
— Developers are eyeing Clarkstown, New York, for the construction of a new senior housing development.
— Koelsch Communities has started construction on a $108 million community in Vancouver, Washington.
— A new senior housing community is taking shape in Oakdale, California.
— Maple Ridge Senior Living is targeting May to open a new community in Manistee, Michigan.
— A senior living community in Millville, New Jersey, is approaching its opening date after a long delay caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
— A new assisted living community has opened in Pocatello, Idaho.
— Amazing Grace Senior Living is opening a new 72-unit senior living community in Chicago.
