Pegasus Community in Mississippi Set for Facelift

Ridgeland Place, a Pegasus Senior Living-managed community in Ridgeland, Mississippi, is set to undergo some renovations.

The facelift will include vinyl plank flooring in apartments, which looks like hardwood floors but is water-resistant and easier to clean.

If all goes according to plan, the renovations will wrap up by the first quarter of 2020.

Michigan Not-for-profit Provider to Expand Community

Sunset Retirement Communities and Services has announced plans to expand its senior living presence in Michigan.

The non-profit provider is set to break ground in the fall of 2020 on an expansion of its Waterford Place community in Georgetown Township. The expansion will add 168,000 square feet to the campus, with 62 independent living apartments and 20 lakefront villas.

Planned amenity space includes a clubhouse on the lake, fitness center, new dining venues, a chapel and covered parking.

Capitol Seniors Housing Breaks Ground on Pennsylvania Community

Construction is now underway for Arbor Terrace Exton, a Capitol Seniors Housing community in Exton, Pennsylvania.

The community is planned to have 86 apartments, with amenities such as a grand lobby, bistro, club room, library with included children’s area, salon, theater and a multi-purpose art room.

If all goes according to plan, the community will to open in the winter of 2020.

First Belmont Village Community to Open in Florida in 2020

Belmont Village is on track to open its first community in the state of Florida next year.

The 12-story community, Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is set to have 204 units and offer independent living, assisted living and memory care.

Oakmont Community On Track for Spring 2020 Opening

Oakmont Senior Living is on track to open a new community in Novato, California, next spring.

The company recently opened an information center at the 85-residence community, which is named Oakmont of Novato. Amenities at the community will include a day spa, movie theater, resident gardens and a wellness center.

Architecture Firm Announces Construction of Several Projects

Architecture firm Three has designed three senior living communities under construction in Texas, South Carolina and New Mexico.

The company announced that a $35 million repositioning effort is now underway for Presbyterian Village North, a senior living community in Dallas from Presbyterian Communities and Services. The project will add 112 independent living units.

Three is also involved with another project under construction: Woodlands at Furman, a community in Greenville, South Carolina.That $19 million expansion with add a new community village space with amenities and 40 independent living apartments.

The final project the firm is working on is La Secoya de El Castillo, a new community under construction in Santa Fe, New Mexico. As planned, the community will have 68 one- and two-bedroom apartments, and will be managed by owner-operator El Castillo Retirement Residences.

Senior Resource Group Opens First Texas Community

SeniorResource Group (SRG) has opened its first community in the Lone Star State.

The community, dubbed Maravilla at The Domain in Austin, Texas, has 232 residences and amenities such as multiple dining venues, subterranean parking, courtyards and a swimming pool. The community spans a six-story tower, a seven-story tower and an 11-story tower.

Alliance Residential Opens First Active Adult Community

Alliance Residential on Jan. 2 welcomed residents at its first active adult property. The 166-unit community in Tukwila, Washington, is called Marvelle at Southcenter, and Alliance is serving as manager.

Marvelle at Southcenter is the inaugural community in the more than $1 billion senior living pipeline that Alliance announced in 2015.

If all goes according to plan, the new community will hold its grand opening party in March.

RLC Opens Colorado Community

Resort Lifestyle Communities has opened a new retirement community in Jefferson County, Colorado.

The community, Sky Pointe, has 128 apartments and amenities such as an in-house bank, business center, pharmacy, fitness center, game room, 150-seat theater, gift shop, salon and multiple dining venues.

Evergreen Real Estate Group is planning a 120-unit affordable senior housing community in Goshen, Indiana.

In progress

Work has started on an $81 million project to turn a hospital in Chicago into a senior living community with 193 units.

— Trilogy Health Services is building a 94-bed senior living community in Hamilton, Ohio.

Complete

— A 16-bed memory care wing has opened at a community in Colfax, Washington.

— There’s a new assisted living building at Spurgeon Manor, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Dallas Center, Iowa.
