Ryan Cos., Great Lakes Plan Minnesota Community

Ryan Companies and Great Lakes Management are collaborating on a senior living community in Woodbury, Minnesota.

The community, Talamore Woodbury, is planned to have 200 units for independent living, assisted living and memory care, with multiple dining venues, a library, wellness and telehealth center, fitness areas, spa and salon, club room, activity room and a large gathering space.

Ryan Companies is developing, designing and building the community, while Great Lakes is slated to work as operator. This is the two companies’ third Talamore senior living community together.

If all goes according to plan, the workers will break ground on the development by the middle of next year.

Senior Living Project in California Wins Approval

Advocacy Development Partners (ADP) has received approval for a new senior living project in San Jose, California.

The San Jose City Council unanimously approved ADP’s plans to build an 83-unit assisted living and memory care community with a theater, therapy salon room, activity rooms, lounges, arts and crafts room, library and media room and a wellness center.

ADP expects to have financing and an operating partner in place in “the next couple months,” with a groundbreaking in 2021 and an opening date of in the spring of 2023.

LCS Expanding North Carolina Community

LCS Development, a company under the LCS umbrella, is undertaking a $75 million major expansion at WhiteStone, a senior living community in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Plans call for the addition of 67 independent living units along with a building containing 36 private assisted living and memory care suites. The work would also include an extensive renovation of the community’s skilled nursing facility.

LCS Development is handling planning, development, and design and construction for the project. The project team also includes SFCS Architects, Frank L. Blum Construction Company, and Stimmel Associates.

The bond financing for the expansion was underwritten by Cain Brothers and closed on Sept. 9. Work began on Sept. 22.

RLC to Host Groundbreaking for North Las Vegas Community

Resort Lifestyle Communities (RLC) is scheduled to host a groundbreaking ceremony for a new senior living community in North Las Vegas, Nevada.

The $30 million, 180,000 square foot community, dubbed Vista Park, is slated to include a public-facing bank, pharmacy, gift shop and salon. It’s also due to be the third RLC location in Nevada.

Work Starts for Arizona Community

Sundt Construction has started work on an expansion at Royal Oaks, a senior living community in Sun City, Arizona.

The work includes a new neighborhood, Inspirata Pointe, which consists of four new independent living buildings. It will also include new pavilions at the community’s westside neighborhood, and two new therapy buildings for rehabilitation and wellness services.

Wolff Debuts Pre-Leasing Cottage at Forthcoming Revel Community in Arizona

Revel Communities, a division of The Wolff Company, has begun pre-leasing for its forthcoming independent living community, Revel Scottsdale, in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The company recently opened a furnished cottage home as part of its pre-leasing center. As planned, Revel Scottsdale will have 157 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom cottages for residents.

Virginia Community Celebrates ‘Topping Out’

Harbor’s Edge, a life care community in Norfolk, Virginia, is celebrating a “topping out” construction milestone for its new 24-story expansion.

As planned, the community’s forthcoming River Tower will add add 147 new residences and new amenities that include four new dining venues, a professional golf simulator, spa and salon and a fitness center with personal training and wellness programs.

Brightview Welcomes Residents at Maryland Community

Brightview Senior Living has opened Brightview Grosvenor, a new senior living community in Bethesda, Maryland, just outside Washington D.C.

The 96-apartment community has amenities that include a movie theater, private dining room, pub, pool table and the “Grosvenor Family Library,” which has a collection of National Geographic books donated by the family of former National Geographic president, editor and photojournalist Gilbert H. Grosvenor.
