The Springs Living Names New COO

The Springs Living has promoted Brenda Connelly to the role of COO.

In her new role, Connelly is tasked with overseeing daily operations for the provider’s communities and infrastructure, including facilities management, healthcare services, culinary services, sales and marketing.

Connelly previously worked as The Springs Living’s chief quality officer, a role that put her in charge of the company’s standards of care and services. She first joined the company in 2010 as executive director of The Springs at Whitefish in Whitefish, Montana.

The Springs Living also this month promoted Scott Warden to the role of executive director at The Springs at Missoula in Missoula, Montana. In his new role, Warden will oversee all the senior living community’s daily operations.

Warden first joined The Springs Living in 2017 as the director of community relations at The Springs at Carman Oaks in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

Former Lifespace CEO Takes the Reins at Lutheran Life Communities

Former Lifespace Communities CEO Sloan Bentley is set to join Lutheran Life Communities as its new president and CEO on Sept. 14.

Bentley has a more than 30-year career in senior living. She cofounded Seniority, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Baptist Homes of the West that provides management, sales and marketing services and consulting to senior housing communities across the U.S.

She departed Lifespace in 2019 after a roughly four years leading the organization. She also founded Bentley and Associates, a West Des Moines, Iowa-based business with a focus on strategic planning, executive coaching and leadership development.

Cole Joins LifeCare Properties as Managing Partner, COO

Senior living veteran Jeremy Cole has joined real estate development company COMVEST Properties, and its senior living division, LifeCare Properties, as managing partner and COO.

In his new role, Cole will oversee and manage the company’s portfolio, keeping in mind strategic initiatives while pursuing new development opportunities. He also will operate out of, and expand, LifeCare Properties’ satellite office in Louisville, Kentucky.

Cole has worked for seven years as the CEO of Blake Management Group. He also has spent more than 15 years in management consulting.

And, under the terms of a joint venture agreement, LifeCare Properties will assist Blake Management Group with the expansion of its The Blake senior living brand, starting with two communities in Waco and New Braunfels, Texas.

New COO at Vista Prairie

Vista Prairie Communities, a non-profit senior living provider with eight communities in Minnesota, Iowa and Ohio, has appointed Anna Petersmeyer as its vice president and COO.

As COO, Petersmeyer is tasked with leading the provider’s assisted living and memory care services. Prairie Vista’s executive directors and organizational director of health care will report to her.

Petersmeyer comes to Vista Prairie from Volunteers of America – Minnesota and Wisconsin, where she has worked as COO for about three years.

Oakmont Promotes Younan, Moret

Oakmont Senior Living has named Rina Younan as its vice president of program development, and Andrew Moret as its director of culinary.

In her new role, Younan is set to oversee culinary, memory care and activities. She first joined Oakmont in 2013, and has more than 16 years of experience in the culinary field.

Moret, meanwhile, will oversee Oakmont’s culinary department in his new role. He first joined Oakmont roughly one year ago as regional executive chef specialist, and has worked in the senior living industry for about seven years.

Atlas Welcomes Three New Leaders

Atlas Senior Living has named Lauren Hamilton as its regional sales and marketing director, Ashley White as regional director of clinical compliance, and Amy Cole as area sales and marketing director.

Hamilton has held multiple previous sales and marketing roles, and previously worked as an area sales manager. Cole joined the senior living field in 2012, and White has multiple years of experience in the opening of new senior living communities.

Health Dimensions Group Names VP of Consulting Services

Health Dimensions Group (HDG) recently named Michael Edwin to the role of vice president of consulting services.

Edwin is tasked with focusing on strategic planning, market research and growth strategy development. He brings to the role about two decades of health care consulting experience, with experience working with senior living companies, women religious congregations, and nonprofit organizations.

Before coming aboard at HDG, Edwin was a director of the senior living and health care practice at Wipfli.

Standard Communities Hires Managing Director

Standard Communities, the affordable housing division of Standard Companies, has hired Matt Sislen as its new managing director of East Coast production.

In his new role, Sislen is responsible for growing of Standard’s portfolio of multifamily assets on the East Coast, with a focus on the Mid-Atlantic region.

Missouri Community Welcomes New Executive Director

Arrow Senior Living named Katie Burrage executive director at The Parkway Senior Living, a community in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Burrage, who joined the community in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, has already implemented the use of mask-detecting technology and thermographic cameras, according to an announcement about her appointment.

UCF-Affiliated CCRC Names Executive Director

Legacy Pointe at UCF, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) affiliated with the University of Central Florida in Orlando, has named Josh Smith as executive director.

Smith, a graduate of UCF, has 16 years of senior living experience. He previously worked as executive director at communities managed by Life Care Services and Brookdale Senior Living. He also held operational roles with now LifeSpire of Virginia.

Legacy Pointe at UCF is currently under construction, and set to be managed by Greystone when it opens next year.

Claiborne Senior Living Hires ED for Louisiana Community

Claiborne Senior Living has named LaDane Washington as executive director of The Claiborne at Thibodaux, a senior living community in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

In his new role, Washington will oversee the community’s strategic direction and daily operations. He previously worked as operations manager at Surge Medical Transportation.

Sunshine Retirement Hires ED for New California Community

Sunshine Retirement Living has hired Shannon Hundley to work as the first executive director of Park View Estates, an assisted living and memory care community in Fountain Valley, California.

Hundley’s senior living career spans 15 years, and he previously worked as executive director of a senior living community in San Diego County.

Construction for the community is expected to wrap up in October.

Integral Hires Leader for New Tennessee Community

Integral Senior Living (ISL) has hired Brent Brewer to work as executive director of Cloverland Park Senior Living, a new community in Brentwood, Tennesee.

Brewer has about 20 years of experience in the senior living industry, and has held roles including regional operations director, regional marketing and sales director and executive director.

Argentum Names Senior VP of Public Affairs

Senior living industry association Argentum announced that Maggie Elehwany has joined the association as senior vice president of public affairs.

Under her newly created title, Elehwany will work with Argentum’s public policy team and committee. She comes to the organization after working for the National Rural Health Association (NRHA), where she had worked as vice president of government affairs for the past 13 years.
