Lifespace Communities Names New CFO

Lifespace Communities has named Nick Harshfield as its new CFO, effective July 1.

Harshfield is stepping in for current CFO Larry Smith, who is retiring after more than 17 years with the organization. Harshfield has more than 30 years of financial experience, with about half of that in the senior living industry.

Harshfield previously held executive leadership positions in four senior living organizations. In those roles, he focused on developing and implementing strategic plans, integrating new technology, securing financing and other duties.

Windsor Healthcare Appoints COO

Assisted living and skilled nursing provider Windsor Healthcare has named Stacey Alexander as its new COO.

Alexander will replace outgoing COO Tim Lehner. She comes from Preferred Care, where she oversaw 61 facilities in nine states. She has also worked with organizations including Life Care Centers of America, Kindred Healthcare and Mariner Healthcare.

Argentum Board Elects Malloy as Chair

Argentum’s board of directors has elected Commodore Capital Managing Director  Pat Mulloy as its the new chairman. He most recently was vice chairman on the board.

Mulloy founded Atria Senior Living and worked as its president and CEO from 1996 to 2000. He was also the CEO of Elmcroft Senior Living between 2006 and 2018.

Vi President Randy Richardson will continue to serve as vice chairman. Tim Buchanan, president and CEO of Legend Senior Living, is now the immediate past chairman.

Other new Argentum Board of Director elections include:

  • Kai Hsiao, CEO of Eclipse Senior Living, as vice chairman
  • Sarabeth Hanson, president and CEO of Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA), as treasurer
  • Chris Winkle, CEO of Sunrise Senior Living, as secretary
  • Joel Nelson, president and CEO of Life Care Services; and Katie Potter, president and CEO of Five Star Senior Living; as public policy committee co-chairs
  • Brenda Bacon, president and CEO of Brandywine Senior Living; Joe Eby, president of Bickford Senior Living; and Mercedes Kerr, president of Belmont Village Senior Living; were all elected to the board
  • John Atkinson, managing director of Willis Towers Watson; and  Corey Denman, COO of Direct Supply; were elected to the board as ex officio members

New Executive Director for Frontier Community in South Carolina

Randal Hudson is now the executive director of Portside at Grande Dunes, a Frontier Management community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

In his new role, Hudson will oversee the community and all aspects of its resident experience. Hudson has more than 20 years of senior management, sales, marketing and hospitality experience. He previously held the position of regional director for a senior living operator, a role that tasked him with managing senior living communities in South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida.

Watercrest Names Executive Director of Florida Community

Watercrest Senior Living Group named Collin Baranick as executive director of Watercrest Sarasota, a 198-unit senior living community slated to open in Sarasota, Florida, later this summer.

Baranick most recently worked as an executive director for another senior living provider, a role that had him overseeing two community openings in in South Carolina and Florida.

Ohio Living Names Executive Director, Administrator

Ohio Living has announced leadership changes at its Cincinnati life plan community, Ohio Living Llanfair.

Ann Roller has returned to the organization and will work as the 232-unit community’s executive director. Ohio Living also promoted Scarlett O’Hara from director of assisted living to administrator, where she will help lead the community’s assisted living and long-term care settings.
