Erickson Senior Living bolsters executive team

Baltimore, Maryland-based Erickson Senior Living recently announced Nicole Walker being promoted as senior vice president of human resources and chief diversity officer.

Walker assumed direct responsibilities for human resources in July, Erickson Senior Living CEO Alan Butler said in a news release, which culminated in the promotion after starting with the company in 1999.

She started as a human resources coordinator before becoming director of human resources at three Erickson-managed communities. She also served two years as a regional director before being promoted to vice president of regional human resources in 2017.

Acts Retirement Life Communities promotes VP

Acts Retirement Life Communities announced David Vega was promoted to vice president of operations analysis and compliance after serving more than three decades with the company.

Vega started in the company’s accounting department and previously served as corporate director of compliance. He will continued to oversee those areas and have expanded responsibilities as Acts Retirement Life Communities expands.

Chapters Living welcomes new staff members

Saint Louis, Missouri-based Chapters Living is growing its team thanks to the additions of Rebecca Kaufmann and Tyler Brady, both of whom have played instrumental roles in launching the company’s operations platform, a news release states.

Kaufmann joins Chapters as the senior vice president of quality of life and memory support, bringing 16 years of experience as a health care executive with an emphasis on senior living. Brady joins Chapters as senior vice president of strategic finance. He brings over 13 years of experience in finance to the new role.

Kaufmann will be instrumental in developing both memory care programming and total quality management platforms. Brady will lead the build out of the company’s financial platform that will drive financial performance going forward.

Commonwealth Senior Living announces leadership roles

Charlottesville, Virginia-based Commonwealth Senior Living recently named Mark Miyasaki as chief financial officer, Stephanie Pfingsten as senior vice president of resident care and Archie McAlexander as director of clinical services.

The new members of the leadership team bolster Commonwealth’s finance and resident care teams as it continues to grow its portfolio.

Miyasaki will oversee financial operations for all Commonwealth communities, bringing over 20 years of experience managing financials and operations. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer at Sodalis Senior Living.

Pfingsten brings more than two decades of nursing system development experience. She previously served as vice president of health and wellness at Charter Senior Living.

McAlexander was most recently the director of care transformation and quality care at Charter Senior Living and served as a divisional director of care management at Atria Senior Living for eight years.

Sales directors named for two Florida communities

Abbey Delray and Abbey Delray South senior living communities recently announced Allison Ross Tompkins and Sharron Empson-Hart have joined the respective communities as sales directors.

Tompkins is a former U.S. Army reserve officer and comes to the community with eight years of sales director experience, along with a decade of real estate experience.

Empson-Hart brings over two decades of sales and marketing experience to the role with sales experience in both U.S. and abroad. She also served as executive director at various communities in Connecticut and Florida.

Watermark community appoints executive director

The Watermark at West Palm Beach, a Watermark Retirement Communities site, appointed Sarah Ostrow as executive director to the luxury community in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The first residents are set to move into the community in March and Ostrow will oversee daily operations at the community that is part of the Élan collection of luxe communities.

Ostrow managed senior living communities in Florida and Ohio for more than 15 years, leading daily operations across assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation and long term skilled nursing facilities.

The 154-resident community will offer IL, AL and memory care.

Civitas Senior Living community adds ED, community relations director

Élan Westpointe, a Civitas Senior Living-managed community in Braunfels, Texas, recently welcomed Candace Scarcliff as executive director and Tricia Carson as community relations director.

Scarcliff started as a certified nursing assistant over four decades ago and spent the last 20 years in senior living roles, from wellness director to executive director and regional director of operations.

Carson became community relations director in late 2022 and previously served as an educational diagnostician for the New Braunfels Independent School District and a hospice care consultant for Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care.

BOK Financial promotes senior director

BOK Financial recently announced the promotion of Jessica Johnson to senior director of senior housing and care.

In the new role, Johnson will assume responsibility for all business development and relationship management activities with the company’s senior housing and care business.

She joined the company in 2006 as a Career Track trainee before working as an analyst and banker in the corporate banking group before joining a health care team that was formed in 2013.
