MorningStar to Enter Texas Market

MorningStar Senior Living is entering the Texas market with developer Hines Interests.

The two companies will build a senior care community in Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood. MorningStar Assisted Living & Memory Care at River Oaks will break ground in the first quarter of 2020, with an anticipated Q3 2021 opening, and will include 112 units for assisted living and memory care. MorningStar and Hines will co-invest, co-develop and co-own the community.

In Indiana, Leo Brown Breaks Ground on Traditions Project

Senior living developer, owner and operator Leo Brown Group announced the groundbreaking of a new senior living community in Columbus, Indiana.

The community, Traditions of Columbus, will have 129 independent living, assisted living and memory care units with living options ranging from studio to one and two-bedroom floorplans.

The 17-acre campus will have landscaped amenities such as hills, water features, walking paths and a dog park.

Traditions Management, which is the wholly-owned management company belonging to Leo Brown Group, will run the community. If all goes according to plan, Traditions of Columbus will open next year.

Lifespace CCRC Breaks Ground on Expansion

Village on the Green, a Lifespace Communities continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Longwood, Florida, started construction on a $56 million expansion project.

As planned, the expansion will add 36 assisted living apartments, 18 memory care suites and 48 skilled nursing care suites. The work will also include renovations to the community’s common areas and clubhouse enhancements such as new and updated dining venues.

The expansion will also have 20 new residential villas and a new health and wellness center.

Capitol Seniors Housing Opens Community in Massachusetts

Capitol Seniors Housing has announced the opening of Stone Hill at Andover, a senior living community in the Boston suburb of Andover.

The 96-unit community will offer independent living, assisted living and memory care services. The community is operated by The Northbridge Companies.

Amenities include a bistro, activity room, fitness room, theater, salon and courtyard, with a sports bar decked out in Boston Red Sox memorabilia.
