New Orleans CCRC Plans to Expand, Add Green House Units
Poydras Home, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in New Orleans, is embarking on an expansion project that will swap its skilled nursing units for small-house residences, among other changes.
Currently, 64 of the community’s 107 units are designated as skilled nursing. But the expansion project will replace all 64 of those units with Green Home small-home units and add 14 new assisted living units across two three-story buildings. The Green House homes are planned to come with private bedrooms and bathrooms, an open-concept kitchen, dining room, living room, den and outdoor space with garden views.
