Atria Takes Steps to Offer Its Tech Suite to Other Senior Living Operators

Atria Senior Living recently filed for a trademark for Glennis Solutions, a company providing technology to support senior living operations.

“Over many years, Atria has developed a high quality, true end-to-end, suite of software solutions for senior housing operations,” the company told Senior Housing News in an emailed statement. “We are excited about the potential of offering that software suite to other operators in the future. We’re still in the very early stages with more to come later this year.”

Louisville, Kentucky-based Atria is one of the largest North American senior living operators, with a portfolio of 216 communities. The company is known for its vertical integration, having not only created its technology infrastructure in-house, but also having its own marketing agency and other capabilities. Recently, CEO John Moore teased the creation of “Atria Lab/Workshop,” which would manufacture certain types of products.

Glennis Solutions is poised to offer “downloadable mobile applications for use in data management, electronic storage of data, and tracking of activities at senior living communities, relating to sales, revenue, expenses, quality control, government inspections, operations licensing and permitting, and customer care, all in the field of senior housing and senior care,” according to a June 30, 2020 trademark filing.

A Glennis Solutions website touts that the software suite is based on “years of field experience combined with our iterative process,” and was developed to meet the “day-to-day challenges” of senior housing.

Atria filed the Glennis Solutions trademark under 1B basis. This means that the company has a “bona fide intention to use [the] mark in commerce with [its] goods and/or services in the near future,” according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
