Announcing the Nominees for the 2020 SHN Architecture & Design Awards

Senior Housing News, an Aging Media Network publication, is pleased to announce that over 100 entries have been submitted to the 6th annual Senior Housing News (SHN) Architecture & Design Awards, sponsored exclusively by senior living furniture provider Kwalu. (http://www.shnawards.com).

Communities across the country and globe submitted new construction and renovation projects, vying for top honors across nine categories this year: Affordable, Assisted Living, Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), Hospice, Independent Living, International, Renovation / Repositioning, Skilled Nursing / Post-Acute Care and Standalone Memory Care.

“The 2019 SHN Architecture & Design Awards is the largest to date and keeps getting bigger and better,” said George Yedinak, founder of Senior Housing News. “It’s incredible to showcase the projects from around the United States and globally. The owners, operators, developers continue to invest in incredible work from the world-class architects, designers and engineers that bring these communities the different parts of the care continuum.”

“The annual SHN Architecture & Design Awards continue to attract the most exciting projects in senior housing from across the U.S. and around the world,” said George Yedinak, founder of Senior Housing News. “Senior living owners, operators and developers are working with world-class architects and designers to create the next generation of senior living.”

A panel of industry experts will judge the projects, evaluating nominees based on design and aesthetic criteria. Not only will judges analyze design elements such as color, light and landscape architecture, they will also consider community functionality by analyzing key features that are critical to property type, such as universal design techniques.

Winners will be announced on December 12, 2019.
