Cedarhurst to add independent living cottages in Illinois
Cedarhurst Senior Living will expand Cedarhurst of Springfield with 56 independent living cottages, according to a news release.
The new cottages, set to open in Spring 2027, will include two-bedroom plans with walk-in closets, full-size kitchen appliances, in-home washer and dryer, private garages with electric vehicle charging outlets, covered patios and gas fireplaces.
Amenities include a clubhouse with dining options, a dog park, a putting green and a gym. Residents will also have access to activity programs, therapy services and transportation available at Cedarhurst of Springfield’s assisted living and memory care community.

Friendship Village Tempe advances with five-story independent living building
Construction is underway on phase three of the 50-acre Friendship Village Tempe campus in Tempe, Arizona, according to a news release.
The project removes an existing structure and adds a five-story 175,900 square foot building with substantial completion targeted for the end of 2027.
This latest phase will add 69-IL apartments, two guest suites and below-grade parking. Residences will include one- and two-bedroom layouts ranging from 909 to 2,396 square feet, also including a penthouse option.
Amenities will include a reimagined restaurant and lounge with duckpin bowling on the fifth floor, a spa and clinic space, club rooms and a group exercise area. Residents will also access earlier phases with rooftop pickleball courts and a full service rooftop restaurant and microbrewery, the release states.

Bonaventure Senior Living opens latest Oregon community
Leaders from Bonaventure Senior Living recently gathered to mark the opening of Bonaventure of Milwaukie, a new senior living community in Milwaukie, Oregon, according to a news release.
The community will offer independent living, assisted living and memory care services spanning studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans with kitchenettes, heating and air conditioning controls for each room and emergency call systems.
Resort-style amenities included at the community include chef-prepared meals, a golf simulator, fitness center, library, barbershop, game rooms, courtyards and walking paths.
Jenner’s Pond unveils renovated Mundell Health Center in Pennsylvania
The continuing care retirement community Jenner’s Pond in Chester County, Pa., part of the Simpson Senior Services system of communities, recently opened a newly renovated health center, according to a news release.
The Pastor Jim and Betty Mundell Health Center was remodeled to reimagine skilled nursing and memory care services into a “person-directed, household model,” the release states.
The project was designed by Lenhardt Rogers Architecture and built by David Funk & Sons and creates four households, each with its own kitchen, dining and living rooms, activity spaces and outdoor areas.
New features for the memory care expansion include a therapy gym offering physical, occupational and speech therapies and a sensory garden, the release states.
