Nonprofit senior living provider EverTrue has named Russ Mast as chief operating officer to help lead the organization’s growth efforts.
Mast will start effective on Dec. 17th and he brings more than two decades of leadership experience in senior living, health care and affordable housing. He comes to the Brentwood, Missouri-based organization from HumanGood, where he served as vice president of operations. He also held roles with Frederick Living and Living Branches.
EverTrue CEO Adam Marles said Mast’s background “will be an incredible asset as EverTrue continues to grow,” citing his past experience with development, planning and operations.
“We’ve been searching for a leader who will work with our team to guide EverTrue through this exciting chapter of growth, ensuring we continue to deliver excellence in every community we serve,” Marles told SHN in a statement. “Russ stood out for his ability to pair strategic thinking with action—something we value deeply as we evolve and sustain our award-winning organization.”
In March, Evertrue was rebranded from Lutheran Senior Services (LSS) to meet the expectations of current and incoming residents.
“We needed a brand that would reflect our ability to really deliver on those expectations in a more effective way, while also holding true to our legacy and to our heritage,” Marles told SHN at the time.
The company conducted a search for a new COO since former Evertrue COO Ron Schaefer transitioned to the CEO role at Emerald Communities in September.
Marles said that Mast would play a “key role in shaping EverTrue’s next chapter” of growth, exploring community development, partnerships, new care models and technology investments to push the organization forward.
“We are committed to seeking out new models and best practices that will serve our communities and our residents in the best possible ways,” Marles said. “We’re especially excited about his contributions to EverTrue Anywhere Care, which helps older adults remain independent at home with the support they need to thrive.”
